Arts Factory Volunteers Recognised

Barry Triggs, Neil Isaac & Nicola Rees

June is a very special month for volunteers across Rhondda Cynon Taff, it’s a time when dedication, commitment and helping the community is recognised and organisations that are fortunate to have volunteers can say thank you.

Arts Factory is one of those organisations and it was with real pleasure that they nominated three of their volunteers for awards at the recent Interlink Volunteer Awards 2010 ceremony held at Abercwmboi Rugby Club.

The three volunteers all received certificates to recognise their commitment and dedication to Arts Factory. The volunteers are Nicola Rees, Neil Isaac and Barry Triggs.

Nicola runs the excellent Fun Factory Parent and Toddler Playgroup at Trerhondda every Tuesday and Thursday morning where up to 20 babies and very young children learn through structured play whilst the mums, dads or grandparents share time with each other or just relax and watch their young ones have a fantastic time.

Neil volunteers three full days on the Factory Books Project, helping to sell recycled and collectable books and working with other volunteers who may need some extra support to play their part in the project.

Barry has been ever present at Arts Factory for some three years and volunteers in the Finance Department, covers reception and the switchboard and also works on the Factory Books Project.

Bill Daniel, the Project Leader at Arts Factory was able to present their certificates at a Fun Factory session
and said, “Nicola, Neil and Barry are excellent examples of individuals who give so much to help Arts
Factory run each day. We value their contribution immensely and are delighted they have received this well
deserved recognition.”
